Upcoming events:

The Sea to Ski Triathlon will take place from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, March 25. It will consist of a 5K run from Mariner Park to West Homer Elementary School, a 7K bike up West Hill Road and across Highland Drive to the Roger’s Loop Trailhead, where there will be a 5K ski to the DOT Trailhead of the Sterling Highway.

Soccer: The boys’ soccer team will play Soldotna High School at 6 p.m. in Homer on April 10. The girls’ team will play at 4 p.m. that same day.

In review:

Basketball: The following are the All-Conference awards that came out of the Southcentral Conference Championships at Colony High School, where both Homer teams placed fourth in competition.

Among the highlights are Rylyn Todd and Alissa Cole making the first all-conference team for the girls, and Joel Carroll, Jordan Beachy and Koby Etzweiler making the first team for the boys. Falmcon Greear, Amiyah Varga and Jullianna Hanenberger made the first all-conference team for cheerleading.

Wrestling: The following is a wrestling recap on Homer Popeye Wrestling Club from Storm Hansen-Cavasos:

“This last weekend Popeye wrestling club had five wrestlers compete in Fairbanks at the Interior Youth wrestling tournament. Brodey Cook brought home gold by pinning all his opponents, Storey Cook placed second for the girls and Saoirse Cook placed third. All three Cook wrestlers were coached by their big brother, Tristen Cook, and big sister, McKenzie Cook. Also wrestling in Fairbanks was Seth Inama, bringing home silver.

“Back home, (the) Popeye Wrestling Club participated in the Popeye Southern Peninsula Scrimmage put on by Popeye Wrestling and Anchor Kings Wrestling. It was a great two-day event that brought a few wrestlers from Voznesenka and Nikiski in to compete as well.

The Friday scramble was Greco. Popeye wrestlers who placed in their respective weight groups are as follows:
