Alaska State Troopers at 10 p.m. received a REDDI report about a vehicle driving more than 100 mph and swerving near mile 48 of the Seward Highway. AST located and stopped the vehicle near mile 47 of the Sterling Highway in Cooper Landing. The operator of the vehicle, Eros Kuzmin, 38, of Homer, was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to the Seward Jail with no bond.
Troopers at approximately 9:12 p.m. responded to a single vehicle crash with injuries near mile 56 Seward Highway. Teena Garay, 53, of Homer, was driving a 2007 Toyota pickup northbound, rounding a corner on Canyon Creek Bridge near mile 56 Seward Highway when the vehicle experienced black ice with rain. The vehicle slid sideways onto dry pavement, flipped over multiple times and landed on all four tires. The passenger, Peter Garay, 58, of Homer was not injured. Teena Garay sustained head lacerations and was transported by a motorist to an Anchorage hospital. All occupants were wearing seat belts. The vehicle was totaled.
Troopers at 10:57 p.m. contacted Drosida Basargin, 21, of Homer during a traffic stop in Homer. Basargin was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to the Homer Jail.
Troopers at about 8:58 p.m. responded to a motor vehicle collision near mile 158 of the Sterling Highway. Adam Dillon, 27 of Anchor Point, was operating a 2003 Ford Explorer when he lost control of the vehicle and drove into a ditch. He and his passenger were transported to South Peninsula Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Both Dillon and his passenger were wearing safety belts.
Troopers at 8:33 a.m. responded to a motor vehicle collision at mile 9 of East End Road in Homer. Andrew Hill, 30, of Homer was driving a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he lost control and rolled the vehicle. Hill was issued a misdemeanor citation for driving while license revoked. He was uninjured in the rollover. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $4,000.
Troopers at approximately 11:45 a.m. contacted Bradley S. Sekulich, 31, of Homer at a residence off of East End Road in Homer. Sekulich had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failure to appear for arraignment on the original charge of driving under the influence and no vehicle operators license. Sekulich had conditions of release to not to consume alcohol and was intoxicated. He was arrested, taken to Homer Jail and held without bail.
Troopers at about 4:13 p.m. responded to a motor vehicle collision near mile 147 of the Sterling Highway. Marina Basargin, 18 of Anchorage, lost control of the 2004 Chevrolet Aveo she was operating and hit a telephone pole. Further investigation revealed the three passengers, all under the age of 21, had consumed alcoholic beverages. All three were issued citations of minor consuming alcohol. All parties were not injured and were wearing safety belts; all were released from the scene to a responsible adult.
Troopers at about 9:39 p.m. contacted Stone Wilke, 18, of Wasilla on a traffic stop in Anchor Point. Wilke was in possession of marijuana. He was issued a misdemeanor citation and released from the scene.
Troopers at about 10:12 p.m. contacted Joseph Peebles, 30, of Anchor Point during an investigation. Peebles was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Peebles was arrested and taken to Homer jail.
Troopers at 3:45 p.m. contacted Lisa Kuhr, 39, of Nikiski on a traffic stop in Homer. Kuhr was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages as well as while her privilege to drive was revoked. Kuhr was arrested and taken to Homer jail.
Troopers at about 9:20 p.m. contacted Daniel K. Soger, 28, of Ninilchik on a traffic stop. Soger was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages as well as while his privilege to drive was revoked. Soger did not have an ignition interlock device installed as he was ordered to by the court. Soger was arrested and taken to Homer Jail.
Troopers at about 12:26 a.m. contacted Patrick Delumeau, 19, of Homer and Ashley Dour, 25, of Homer, on a traffic stop. Both Delumeau and Dour were in possession of marijuana. Both were issued a misdemeanor citation and released from the scene.
Troopers at 8:18 a.m. responded to a reported gunshot victim at a residence in Anchor Point. Diamond Loosli, 71, of Anchor Point died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His body was sent to the State Medical Examiners Office in Anchorage for autopsy. Foul play is not suspected.
