Many help with library program

The wind has turned and the fireweed is blossoming at the tips. As we reflect on what fun Summer@HPL has been, we realize that this program is built on the kindness and participation of so many people and businesses in our community. More than 325 children and teens in the community spent the summer reading and taking part in all of the fun activities at the library.

We are especially thankful for the support of the Ashley J. Logan Fund, a field of interest fund at the Homer Foundation that supported our visiting performers and Maker Mondays, AKUSA Federal Credit Union for their tireless support for and at the Ice Cream Celebration, and the board and members of the Friends of the Homer Public Library.

We’d like to reach out to the city of Homer, Community Recreation, The Grog Shop, Homer Bookstore, Homer High School, Homer Veterinary Clinic, Homer Theatre, Homer’s Jeans, Spenard Builders Supply, Ulmer’s Drug and Hardware, Frosty Bear Ice Cream, Fat Olive’s Restaurant, Save-U-More, Timeless Toys, the Pratt Museum, Kate Kuhn Aquatic Center, Two Sisters Bakery, Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies, Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center and KBBI AM 890, to thank all of you for your contributions.

There are so many volunteers and helpers, we couldn’t possibly thank you all here. But be assured, we couldn’t do it without you. Don’t forget there are plenty of opportunities all year for great reading and fun events at the Homer Public Library.
