Move over Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby. It’s time for the Homer Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center’s Winter Shopping Derby. 

The action begins Friday and continues until Feb. 7, with the grand prize $1,000 Homer Bucks winner announced Feb. 11.

It includes weekly drawing for prizes donated by participating vendors. Derby tickets are $10 each. Vendors are asked to donate gift certificates or prizes worth $25-$50 and will receive $1 per ticket after 10 tickets are sold. 

The vendor selling the winning tickets receives $250 Homer Bucks, as does the person selling the most tickets.
