Caressa, Dean win video contest

Homer musician Caressa and video director Tehben Dean have won first place in F Magazine’s music video contest. The video features Caressa performing her song, “Fall for You,” and was filmed at beaches in Homer. One of 36 entries in the contest, the award was announced Nov. 3 at a reception and viewing held by F Magazine at Out North Art House in Anchorage.

“Fall for You” is a single on Caressa’s album, “Starshine,” produced with the support of a Rasmuson Foundation individual artist award and a Kickstarter fundraising campaign. Caressa performs at 7 p.m. Sunday at AJ’s Old Town Steakhouse and Tavern. Caressa is the founder and owner of Alaska Independent Music, a company supporting her own work and that of other emerging artists. In collaboration with K-Bay Caffee, Alaska Independent Music will soon be opening a music venue, The Green Room, at K-Bay’s new location on Pioneer Avenue.
