Troopers

Aug. 4

Alaska State Troopers at 6:41 p.m. went to a possible disturbance near Deep Creek Road in Ninilchik. While troopers were at the scene a car associated with the address drove by and troopers stopped the driver for equipment violations. Troopers found a passenger in the car, a 26-year-old Kodiak man, had two felony warrants out of Kodiak. Troopers arrested the man on the warrants and held him on $10,000 cash bail.

Aug. 5

Homer Police

Aug. 8

Police at 4:14 a.m. did a security check of a Sterling Highway building and found signs of forced entry. On Aug. 14 a person reported a break-in and theft of items at the building.

A caller at 11:11 a.m. reported a disturbance that happened earlier on the Spit.

A person at 11:45 a.m. reported finding items on private property.

A woman at 1:15 p.m. reported her backpack was stolen from her car.

A person at 2:23 p.m. flagged down an officer on the Spit and reported a disturbance.

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to nine medical calls and three fire calls.

Troopers

July 30

Alaska State Troopers at 10:28 a.m. received a report of a burglary at a cabin in the Caribou Hills near Ninilchik. The caller reported firearms and tools taken from the residence. The break-in was reported to have happened in the last two weeks. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-478-HALT (478-4258). Investigation continues.

July 31

Homer Fire

Aug. 1-7

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to 20 medical calls and three fire calls.

Aug. 3

Firefighters at 10:08 a.m. went to report of a sprinkler activation at Safeway. They found a water sprinkler had been struck and damaged, causing an alarm that the sprinkler had gone off. There was no fire.

Aug. 1

A caller at 10:50 a.m. reported a person yelling at a Spit parking lot. Police responded.

A caller at 11:12 a.m. reported receiving a counterfeit bill at a Lake Street business.

A caller at 12:25 p.m. reported a man had been advised of a 1-year trespass notice at a Sterling Highway store.

A caller at 12:25 p.m. asked to speak to an officer regarding a possible stalking. Police advised the person of options.

Troopers

July 24

Alaska State Troopers at 10:36 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 27-year-old Homer man driving near Mile 4 East End Road. Troopers arrested the man for driving under the influence.

July 26

Troopers at 11:43 a.m. went to a two-car crash near Mile 159 Sterling Highway. Troopers said a car driven by a 75-year-old Anchor Point woman was behind two other cars. She slowed suddenly when a car in front of her slowed. A car behind her driven by a 23-year-old Anchor Point woman hit the older woman’s car. All parties wore seat belts and no one was injured.

July 25

Police at 9:45 a.m. stood by for an eviction at a Mattox Street address. Police issued a trespass notice to a woman.

A person at 11:47 a.m. made a 911 call of a disturbance on Main Street. Police determined it was a civil issue and advised the caller of options.

An employee at 12:50 p.m. reported counterfeit money at a Heath Street business.

A caller at 3 p.m. reported a theft at a Sterling Highway address and unknown people trespassing.
