Homer Police

Aug. 1

A caller at 10:50 a.m. reported a person yelling at a Spit parking lot. Police responded.

A caller at 11:12 a.m. reported receiving a counterfeit bill at a Lake Street business.

A caller at 12:25 p.m. reported a man had been advised of a 1-year trespass notice at a Sterling Highway store.

A caller at 12:25 p.m. asked to speak to an officer regarding a possible stalking. Police advised the person of options.

Troopers

July 24

Alaska State Troopers at 10:36 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 27-year-old Homer man driving near Mile 4 East End Road. Troopers arrested the man for driving under the influence.

July 26

Troopers at 11:43 a.m. went to a two-car crash near Mile 159 Sterling Highway. Troopers said a car driven by a 75-year-old Anchor Point woman was behind two other cars. She slowed suddenly when a car in front of her slowed. A car behind her driven by a 23-year-old Anchor Point woman hit the older woman’s car. All parties wore seat belts and no one was injured.

July 25

Police at 9:45 a.m. stood by for an eviction at a Mattox Street address. Police issued a trespass notice to a woman.

A person at 11:47 a.m. made a 911 call of a disturbance on Main Street. Police determined it was a civil issue and advised the caller of options.

An employee at 12:50 p.m. reported counterfeit money at a Heath Street business.

A caller at 3 p.m. reported a theft at a Sterling Highway address and unknown people trespassing.

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to 13 medical calls and one fire call.

July 20

Alaska State Troopers at 8:28 p.m. located a 30-year-old Homer man at a residence on Valleyside Avenue in Anchor Point. The man was being sought by the Kenai Probation office for the past two weeks. At the request of Kenai Probation, troopers arrested the man for violating the terms of his probation.

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to 16 medical calls and two fire calls.

A caller at 1:05 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a Pioneer Avenue business. Police issued a summons for fourth-degree theft to a 31-year-old man.

A caller at 1:33 p.m. reported a civil disagreement over a dog at a Rochelle Road address. Police responded.

A woman at 3:50 p.m. reported a civil issue.

A caller at 4:04 p.m. reported a man threatened and almost hit her on the Spit. Police responded.

A man at 4:30 p.m. reported a scam.

A woman at 6:50 p.m. reported a man followed her children.

July 12

A caller at 5:12 a.m. asked for police assistance with an emergency system going off in a car on Tern Court. Police responded.

A caller at 10:03 a.m. reported a hit-and-run car crash in a Sterling Highway parking lot.

A caller at 12:15 p.m. reported a possibly drunk man in a public restroom on West Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 2:10 p.m. reported a man causing a disturbance in a Sterling Highway parking lot. Police responded but could not find the man.

Multiple callers at 4:07 p.m. reported driver speeding in cars on Bishop’s Beach.

Troopers

July 14

Alaska State Troopers at 11:51 a.m. received a report of a burglary and theft at a Nikolaevsk home that happened within the past two weeks. The caller said someone stole three rifles and a radio. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-478-HALT (4258). Investigation continues.
