Homer Police

Feb. 13

A caller at 7:48 a.m. reported a domestic dispute at a Crestwood Circle home. Police arrested a 28-year-old man for criminal mischief.

A caller at 10:34 a.m. reported icy roads with vehicles unable to drive and causing a traffic hazard on Heath Street. Police notified Public Works.

A caller at 12:56 p.m. reported a disturbance at an Ocean Drive Loop business. Police responded.

A person at 5:04 p.m. made a 911 call of a domestic dispute at a Landings Street address. Police responded and arrested a 39-year-old man for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and unlawful contact.

A caller at 6:23 p.m. reported an injured moose on East Hill Road near Skyline Drive. Police responded and called a charity to salvage the moose meat.

A woman at 9:02 p.m. asked for police assistance in locating her granddaughter. Police responded but could not find the granddaughter. The woman called later and said her granddaughter had returned home.

A caller at 10:20 p.m. reported a pickup truck and trailer in the ditch on Triton Court.

A person at 11:52 p.m. made a 911 call of suspicious activity at an East End Road address. Police responded and did a security check of the area.

Feb. 14

A caller at 8:30 a.m. reported a hit-and-run vehicle crash on East End Road.

A caller at 8:32 a.m. reported a Dumpster in the road on Mullikin Street causing a traffic hazard. Police responded and had the Dumpster owner move it.

A caller at 12:45 p.m. reported fraudulent use of a debit card.

A caller at 12:51 p.m. reported a theft from a mail box on Skyline Drive.

A caller at 3:53 p.m. reported seeing a bear and bear tracks in the Mattox Road area.

A caller at 5:01 p.m. reported two men acting suspiciously in a Kachemak Drive parking lot. Police responded and contacted the suspects.

A caller at 7:11 p.m. reported he caught a man trying to break into his car on East End Road. Police responded.

Feb. 15

A caller at 7:28 a.m. reported a domestic dispute at a Fairview Avenue home. Police responded and arrested a 33-year-old man for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

A caller at 7:28 a.m. reported a person trespassing at a Latham Avenue home.

A caller at 9:10 a.m. reported a possible theft from a mail box on Paintbrush Court.

A caller at 3:04 p.m. reported a person driving an ATV on city streets in the Bartlett Street and Pioneer Avenue area. Police responded but could not find the ATV driver.

A caller at 7:32 p.m. reported a vehicle dragging a fuel hose on the Sterling Highway.

Police at 11:03 p.m. assisted medics in responded to a Main Street address.

Police at 11:15 p.m. did a security check of Bishop’s Beach and found a disabled vehicle.

Feb. 16

A caller at 1:50 a.m. reported a disturbance at a Bunnell Avenue address. Police separated the parties for the night and provided transporation for a man.

A caller at 5:38 a.m. reported a person trespassing on commercial property on Kachemak Drive. Police responded.

A caller at 8:20 a.m. reported a truck stuck in an intersection and delaying traffic on Main Street and Pioneer Avenue. Police notified Public Works to sand the intersection. Police responded and found the intersection had been cleared.

Police at 12:08 p.m. assisted a disabled motorist.

A caller at 3:38 p.m. reported a man trespassing at a Main Street address. Police responded and arrested a 45-year-old man for criminal trespass.

Feb. 17

A caller at 2:46 a.m. reported he heard suspicous noises coming from a camper parked at a Main Street address. Police responded.

A man at 11:55 a.m. asked police to issue a trespass notice to a person from a Kachemak Drive business.

A caller at 2:48 p.m. reported a theft of tools from a Klondike Avenue address.

A caller at 3:53 p.m. reported a civil issue involving property damage at a Grubstake Avenue address.

A caller at 3:53 p.m. asked to speak with an officer regarding a civil issue.

A caller at 4:30 p.m. reported a hit-and-run crash on Bunnell Avenue.

A caller at 4:27 p.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch on Eagleview Drive.

A caller at 7:12 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a person at a Day Breeze Court address.

Troopers

Feb. 10

Alaska State Troopers and Girdwood Fire and Emergency Medical Services at 1 p.m. went to a single-vehicle crash near Mile 61 Seward Highway. Upon arrival troopers found two Good Samaritans had taken an injured person to the Girdwood Tesoro gas station. Troopers said a 58-year-old Anchor Point man driving south lost control of his 2014 Ford F-150 truck and went into the ditch, causing the truck to roll several times. The driver and his passenger both wore seatbelts. Medics took the Anchor Point man to Providence Alaska Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Feb. 16

Troopers at 6:50 a.m. went to a reported disturbance at a North Fork Road home in Anchor Point. Troopers said a 46-year-old Anchor Point woman went to the home in a stolen vehicle and tried to enter without permission. She then drove to another home where troopers contacted her. Troopers arrested her for first-degree vehicle theft, criminal trespassing and driving while license revoked.

Troopers at 11:30 a.m. went to a report of a person slumped behind the wheel of a vehicle parked at an Anchor Point business. Troopers contacted a 48-year-old Anchor Point woman and a 40-year-old Anchor Point man. Troopers said the woman had an Alaska arrest warrant on a charge of driving under the influence and the man had an arrest warrant out of Idaho for possession of controlled substances. Troopers arrested the couple.

Troopers at 6:58 p.m. went to a report of a dead man at a Ninilchik home near the Sterling Highway. Troopers found that a 68-year-old man had died and medics pronounced him dead. Next of kin has been notified.
