Eight softball teams are “tightening up” as the Homer city tournament approaches, says commissioner of the Homer Softball Association Jessica Marx.
The local double-elimination tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Aug. 9 with teams seeded based on season performance.
Saturday’s game lineup:
9 a.m.: Beluga vs. Alibi
10:15 a.m.: SBS vs. Wraptors
11:30 a.m.: Kharacters vs. Down East
12:45 p.m.: Growlers vs. Spartans
The tournament’s second day will start at 10 a.m. Sunday and competition will be based on Saturday’s results.
Last week the Growlers suffered their first two losses of the season from Kharacters/Cups and Beluga Lake Lodge. The stage is set for a competitive yet friendly tournament that will wrap up the summer season for the Homer Softball Association.
