Popeye had a great weekend of wrestling at the tri-valley wrestling tournament. On Friday three wrestlers competed in Greco and all took home the gold. Undefeated the three of them were. The Barnard brothers, Lucas and Declan, absolutely dominated their tough competition. Mose Hayes had two very tough matches and earned himself a gold medal as well.

On Saturday 11 wrestlers competed in freestyle and six wrestlers finished in the top three. Mina Cavasos continues to show her mat prowess, winning three matches for gold.

Dimitri Hook took first. Zoe Zoe had great shots in her matches and took second. Sadie Blake wrestled tough and brought home third. Sierra Clark earned herself third place, and Mose Hayes battled with his competition and got third place.

First-year wrestler Kanin Kumfer did not place, but he had a 24-second pin on Saturday.

Next weekend Popeye will go to Nikiski to wrestle Greco Friday and Freestyle on Saturday.
