Competing in a Junior Olympic qualifying event for international skeet, Sierra Morris, 16, and a member of Kachemak Skeeters, finished first in her division. She was one of 14 boys and five girls competing in the event held in Wasilla on Sunday. In March, she was one of seven local athletes representing the youth shooting club that competed in the Alaska State Junior Olympics Qualifying Event for trap and international skeet held at Birchwood Shooting Range near Anchorage. Morris placed high overall and first in her division in “wobbles” competition.
