The Homer Mariners notched a 48-18 nonconfence road win over the Valdez Buccaneers Saturday in Valdez.
Homer boosted its overall record to 3-4, while Valdez dropped to an identical 3-4.
Homer running back Josh Fisk led the Mariners offense with 151 yards on eight carries and a touchdown, while Mariners quarterback Teddy Croft added 139 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Croft also tossed a pair of touchdowns with 97 passing yards and one interception. Alex Stephens added two rushing touchdowns
Greg Smith opened the scoring with a 72-yard touchdown catch from Croft, who then tallied another passing TD on the next possession, a 25-yard connection to Fisk. Croft ran in the two-point conversion for a 15-0 Homer lead.
Croft added a 52-yard scamper and Fisk had a 67-yard run to push the lead to 35-0 at halftime.
On Saturday, Homer plays Voznesenka at 2 p.m. for its the Mariner homecoming game.

The Voznesenka Cougars improved to 1-5 with a nonconference victory over the Huskies on Friday at Homer High School.
“It’s nice to not be getting your butt kicked,” Voznesenka coach Justin Zank said after notching the season’s first win. “It’s good to get a win. The guys are excited.”
Zank said Azary Reutov played very well in his first game at quarterback. Michael Kusnetsov also was solid at defense and halfback.
