Homer youth perform well at Soccer Futsal State Cup

The Soccer Association of Homer recently sent several teams to the 2019 Alaska Youth Soccer Futsal State Cup, according to Breanna Hill, one of the coaches. The players represented Homer for the past four weekends.

The under 10 boys/girls team Winter Kings took first place at the state cup in their age group under the coaching of Mike Tozzo. Team members were: Ruby Guess, Micah Bunker, Leo Willison, Austin Pitzman, Carter Kincaid, Rhys Borland, Rio Waltenbaugh, Andrew Marley, Dylan Raub, Elijah Williams, and Grayson Hansen.

Both the under 12 boys/girls team, the Defenders, and the under 16/under 19 girls team, Bayview United, took second place in their respective categories at the event.

The Defenders were under the direction of coaches Holland Hill and Billy Pepper. Team members were: Caleb Bunker, Beau Miller, Kai Waltenbaugh, Jai Badajos, Berend Pearson, Ellis Lorentz, Rockwell Bates, Gabe Bradshaw, Ruby Hill, Ella Raub, and Clyde Clemens.

Bayview United cruised to second place under the coaching of Lisa Christopher and Holland Hill. Team members were: Sidney Flora, Serena Fankhauser, Goldie Hill, Kailey Dee, Jessica Sonnen, Alyssum Veldstra, Paige Jones, Kappa Reutov, Harmony Davidson, Debbie Weisser, Mya Houglum, Zoe Stonorov, Eve Brau, Jamie Parish and Lilli Heimbold.
