Homer High School will host the 2023 Homecoming football game versus the Palmer Moose on Friday.
Spirit week started on Tuesday and the theme for this year’s event is “Barbie Land.” Students will have themes to dress up for every day. According to the Mariner Athletics Calendar, Friday will include a fifth period pep rally and an early release at 2:20 p.m. The varsity football game will take place on the Homer Mariner field at 5 p.m.
Other activities Friday will include Homer High School’s annual homecoming chili cook-off during the game and a burger stand hosted by the booster club. Homecoming royalty will be announced at half-time. A class float parade will take place in the high school parking lot after the game and an evening bonfire after the parade with snacks, games and music.
The JV football game will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. There are also three volleyball games in the Mariner gym Friday afternoon and the Homecoming dance in the Mariner Commons will start at 8 p.m.
