The Homer girls and boys basketball teams were swept in Seward on Friday and at Grace Christian on Saturday in Class 3A Peninsula Conference action.
The Mariners girls are now 2-5 in the league and 7-14 overall, while the Mariners boys are 2-5 in the league and 3-18 overall.
The Seward girls edged Homer 29-27. For Homer, Minadora Reutov had 10, Sydney Shelby had nine, Gracie Miotke had four and Hannah Stonorov had two. For Seward, Robin Cronin had 11, Lena Jagielski had seven, Hailey Ingalls had five, and Ava Jagielski, Renee Elhard and Natalie Sieminski had two.
The Seward boys got past Homer 53-26. For Homer, Carter Tennison had eight, Morgan Techie had five, Henry Wedvik and Lance Seneff had four, Lucas Story had three and Spencer Dye had two. For Seward, Ozzy Deal had 14, Bergen Davis had 10, Ben Ambrosiani had nine, Nick Ambrosiani had eight, Van Shank had four, Emerson Cross had two, Talon Lemme had two, Kupono Albino had two and Mason Elhard had two.
Saturday against the conference powerhouse Grizzlies, the girls lost 63-20, while the boys lost 68-26.
This week, Homer hosts Houston on Friday and travels to Kenai Central on Saturday. The varsity girls play at 6 p.m. Friday, while the varsity boys are at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday in Kenai, the varsity girls play at 2:30 p.m. and the varsity boys play at 4:30 p.m.
