Women’s hockey is taking over Homer this weeked for the sixth annual Winter Jamboree hockey tournament on Jan. 15-17 at the Kevin Bell Arena. 

The event is a partnership between the Homer Hockey Association and Homer Divas Women’s Hockey and features a 15-game tournament with more than 100 women competing. Players hail from Wasilla, Healy, Soldotna, Kenai and Anchorage, as well as Homer. The games begin on Friday, Jan. 15 at 6 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 16, also includes a fundraising party from 8 p.m. to midnight at Beluga Lake Lodge. The event is another part of supporting the rink and the Homer Divas Hockey team by helping to reduce the cost of ice time. Guests will enjoy music by DJCJ and a silent auction.
