Sandra J. Newton, 77, died July 16, 2015. Her ashes will be spread and memories shared at Bear Creek, a place she had fond memories of.
She is survived by her husband, George (Ray) Newton; her four children, Todd, Mike, Mark and Donald Slaughter; her grandchildren, Chad, Angel, Mathew, Michael, Nichol, Trevor, Teagan, Mischa and Kiano; great grandchildren, Jesse, Caleb, Damien, Dakota, Desiree, Devon, Chase and Lily; and daughters-in-law Cindy, Supatta and Tara.
A poem by Mary Elizabeth Frye she liked very much reads “Do not stand at my grave and weep / I am not there, I do not sleep. / I am a thousand winds that blow, / I am the diamond glints on snow, / I am the sunlight on ripened grain, / I am the gentle autumn rain. / When you awaken in the mornings’ hush, / I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, / I am the soft stars that shine at night. / Do not stand at my grave and cry, / I am not there, I did not die.”
