Roland Frank Patrick

Roland Frank Patrick, 62, died surrounded by family on March 18, 2015, at Providence Alaska Medical Center, Anchorage.
Roland was born April 2, 1952, in Palmer, Territory of Alaska. He graduated from Wasilla High School in 1971. He later moved to Minnesota where he met Roxanne Walton. They were married on Sept. 14, 1974, in Isanti, Minn. They had three children: Gabriel, Joshua and Shalome. Roland continued his education, receiving a degree in restaurant management from Anoka Tech in 1976. In 1985 he moved to Broken Arrow, Okla. to attend Rhema Bible College, where he graduated in 1987. Roland was also a member of the Rhema Bible Church.
In 1990 Roland moved back to Alaska and he and Roxanne lived in Seldovia for the past 18 years. Roland made his career as a chef and since 1995 was chief steward aboard the M/V Stellar Sea.
His family remembered him as a loving son, husband, father and grandfather.
“Roland had a big heart. He was a ‘Great Man’ and he was a man of God. He gave of himself and took care of his family, putting them before himself. He will be missed by many people, friends, and family,” his family said.
Roland is survived by his wife, Roxanne; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gabriel and Kimberly Patrick and Joshua and Marcia Patrick; one daughter and son-in-law, Shalome Patrick and Paul Wrzesinske; grandchildren, William The Giant, Jimmie Payton, Rachel Payton, Stephen Payton, Adam Patrick, Brooklyn Patrick, Vonia Patrick, and Varek Patrick; his mother, Gerry Patrick; brothers, David and wife, Judy Patrick; Rip and wife, Sandy Patrick; Nugget and wife, Barbara Patrick; and Mike Patrick; sisters, Marguerite Barrus, and Mary and husband, Ben Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roland was preceded in death by his father, E. Bill Patrick, and his grandparents.
