Peter H. Chrobak, 66, died May 8, 2014. He was born Dec. 22, 1947, in Worcester, Mass. He arrived in Homer in 1974 and remained there until his death. Children and animal fan, fisherman, “codfather,” builder, questioner, and a generous friend and lover, he was a poet at heart. He leaves his family and friends with a poem he wrote long ago: “The silent fog had laid down / all around me and / there was peace in my heart — / for I could see everything / so clearly.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Ted Chrobak. He is survived by his brothers, Manny and Ted Chrobak.

A memorial service will be held this fall at a time and place to be announced.
