Former Homer resident Pat Sweiven, 71, died May 3, 2014. Born Jan. 10, 1943, she moved to Hoonah around 1960 and then to Anchorage, where she met her husband, Brian Sweiven. They moved to Homer in 1986, where they started Brian’s Appliance. Pat was a member of Pioneers of Alaska and the Homer Emblem Club No. 350. She was president of the Emblem Club from 1996-97 and a member of Homer American Legion Auxiliary Post 16. Pat moved to Shelton, Wash., in 1999 and then to Buckeye, Ariz., in 2012.
She is survived by her husband, Brian; two sisters, Sue and Beth; son, Dean; grandchildren Shellie, Karen, Liz, Sara, Anna, Aaron and Tony; and great-granddaughter, Ziera.
