On December 8th, 2023 Carey Seabold Meyer passed quickly. Carey was born in Philadelphia, on June 7, 1954, to father Carl Meyer, mother Shirley Meyer who is with him now in heaven. The eldest son, Carey, survived be his three brothers, Don (Tina), Roger, and Randy Meyer, Terry and Jason Meyer, Carey Meyer served as City Engineer. He lead the Homer Public Works Department, projects in; Parks and Rec, fish cleaning stations, retaining walls, Port and Harbor, and City Hall projects, Homer Police Station, and the water sewer treatment plant that serves all of the area. The many public bathrooms were completed during the time Carey served the City of Homer. Carey Meyer was a kind, gentle man who truly loved Homer and everything Homer is. He will be sorely missed.
A memorial will be held this Sunday, December 17th at the Homer Methodist Church. We will be telling light hearted stories and sharing memories of Carey. Also, we will be getting together on June 7th, 2023 for his official memorial service. More details will follow. Any Donations can be given to the Homer Methodist Church in his name.
