May 29, 1951 — Oct. 13, 2017
Anchor Point resident Mildred Christine Wieber, 66, died on Oct. 13, 2017 at home. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, her family said.
A celebration of life will be held later next summer in Alaska and Idaho.
Chris was born May 29, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, two minutes after her sister. They welcomed their second sister, Bonnie, five years later. The older girls attended school in Detroit until the family relocated to Idaho in 1961.
Becky gained the family in 1964. Chris’s dad always claimed “I have a pair, a spare and an extra and they are all my favorite.” She attended school in Jerome and was a key member of the school baton twirling team. In 1969, she met and married Harvey Gardner and they were late divorced. After that, she went to school to be a beautician and work in Boise as a cook and bartender. In 1993, she met the love of her life, Ron Wieber and they married in 1995. They moved to Homer in 1997 and called it home.
She loved to cook, go camping and spend time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Herb Walters in 1996.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Wieber; her mother, Mary Walters; twin sister, Kathy Magee and her husband, Dick; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie Walters and Doug Ester, and Becky Walters and Kenneth Lindsey, all of Jerome, Idaho; children, Bill Gardner, Chris Billings and husband, Brad, and Gene Gardner and wife, Amber, all of Homer; and grandchildren, Taylor Gardner, Kegeen Gardner, Skilar Billings and Taylor Doherty.
The family would like to thank the health care providers, friends and family for all your help in the end.
