Former Homer resident Lloyd Abeldgaard, 73, died on Oct. 9, 2013, after a short battle with lung cancer. He was born Sept. 24, 1940, in McIntosh, Minn.

“Lloyd was known for his kind heart, his ability to fix just about anything, his love for his family and his talent at playing the guitar. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him,” his family said. 

He is survived by his children, Randy Abeldgaard, Peter Abeldgaard and Lisa Abeldgaard Croft. He also leaves behind in Minnesota his wife Della Abeldgaard, her children who he thought of as his own, and numerous grandchildren. 

At his request no services will be held. His ashes will be spread over the farm where he deer hunted as a child in Minnesota.
