John (Jack) Arnold Trail was born November 2, 1930 in Merced, Ca. to John and Alice (Brewer)Trail. He passed away into the afterlife on May 17, 2023
Jack grew up in the San Francisco area, riding trolley cars with his sister, traveling to and from school, and to explore the city.
He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
After his war time service, he eventually made his way to Crescent Mills, in Northern California. While there, he worked in construction, opened Trails feed store and took part in a cooperative that delivered goat milk to the surrounding areas of Plumas County.
Jack was married to Verona, mother of his oldest son John. He then married Dorothy, welcoming sons Matthew (Matt) and Christopher.
Jack and Dotty moved from Crescent Mills to Montana in the mid 1990’s, living in the Billings area until failing health took them to Nikolaevsk Alaska to live near Matt’s family.
The Trail family would like to thank the staff at South Peninsula Hospital for the great care and support. Notably Dr Bill Bell, for coffee and cribbage, which Dr Bell never won.
Jack was not an easy man to know, he was very much a “what you see is what you get” kind of person. He did love to tell stories of his time growing up.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Elsie Timko, youngest son Chris, and two great grandsons.
Jack is survived by his son John of Nevada, son Matt (Jeri) of Nikolaevsk, Ak, daughter in law Jean Hildebrandt, granddaughters Jessica Klamm (John) of Montana, and Stephanie and Shelby Trail of Nebraska. Liliana and Kaylee Trail (Mother Alisa), of Montana, and Elizabeth Trail (mother Ellie) of Greenville, Ca. He is also survived by grandsons Matthew, Scott, Gregory, Michael (Kamala), Zachary (Angel) and Justin Trail of Alaska.
He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 1 pm at the Anchor Point VFW.
