Harvey Lester Michels

Harvey Lester Michels, aged 85, of Anchor Point, died March 5, 2017, at South Peninsula Hospital in Homer.

Harvey was born to John Edgar and Cynthia Grace (Burbank) Michels on Oct. 3, 1931, in Loomis, Wash.

Harvey served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict, enlisting in the U.S. Air Force before moving to Alaska in 1974. He first lived in Cold Bay until 1976, next was Kodiak until 1979, then the Yukon River Bridge until 1986, and finding his way to his home in Anchor Point where he retired from the State of Alaska, Department of Transportation.

He is survived by his sons, John Michels of Anchor Point and Steven Michels of Homer; and daughter, Lisa White of Spokane, Wash.
