Gay J. Walters, 76, died Sept. 20, 2014. He was born Oct. 12, 1937, in Saginaw, Mich., to the late George and Pearl (Allore) Walters. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Patti Lynn Cowlishaw, and five siblings.
Gay moved to Palmetto, Fla., in 2001 from Ogden, Utah. He lived a very spiritual life which he dedicated to helping a worldwide organization in service to others. Gay was a frequent summer visitor to the lower Kenai Peninsula for many years. He helped many people he crossed paths with where ever he went, and he was loved and will be missed by many from this area.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia Gaye Walters; sons, Daniel Allen Walters and his wife Christy of Denver, Colo., and Michael Todd Walters and his wife Susan of Lake Wales, Fla.; daughter, Gaye Lynn Plessure and her husband Raymond of the Upper Peninsula, Mich.; brothers, Lawrence Walters of Michigan, Frank Walters and his wife Bonnie of Michigan, and David Walters and his wife Lou of Texas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at Leisure Lakes Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 2900 8th Avenue West, Palmetto, Fla.
