Duane Fredrick Parlow, age 76, of Waddell, Arizona passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
Duane is survived by his wife, Tonia Parlow (Landry); his daughter Renee (John) Courtney; his son Chad (Pam) Parlow; his sisters Lois Parlow and Phyllis Croswell; his grandchildren Dillion and Dalton Hesselschwerdt and his great grandchild Greyson Hesselschwerdt. Duane was preceded in death by his father Fred Parlow, mother Margaret Parlow (Campbell) and brother Dean Parlow. Duane believed that people should experience life to the greatest of their ability. He also believed that everyone should have as many tools as possible and even duplicates. Finally, those who
knew Duane would agree that he believed that anything Hershey’s should be at the top of the food pyramid and should be considered a healthy food! His passion was sports. He loved football, collegiate women’s basketball and golf. He lived and breathed Oregon State Beavers and their athletic programs. He enjoyed hiking, fishing and traveling. Duane and Renee were able to hike the Chilkoot Trail which was the hardest and most arduous fun he ever experienced.
Duane obtained his Bachelors of Education and Business as well as his Masters in Counseling at Dickinson State University and Montana State University. Duane was a talented and well educated man. He was a teacher, coach, administrator, counselor and principal for many different schools such as Hellgate High School (Missoula, MT), Bering Strait School District, Dysart School District (AZ) and Camp Verde High School (Camp Verde, AZ). His most important roll and favorite job was his family. He was a dedicated family man that provided stability, fun, help, advice and shared his strong work ethic. He also owned and operated his own motel and convenience store in Eureka, MT. Duane was owner of Quick Draw H2O in Homer, Alaska and retired from Homer Electric Association where he was the Director of Administration Services.
