Brian J. Barrett, 44, of Homer died Jan. 30, 2017. He lived a life that embraced the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. Brian lived on his own terms and took pride in raising two strong Alaska daughters who continue to share his same sense of adventure and fearless approach to life. With that mischievous look in his eye, Brian stared into the fire as a man of knowledge, as a man who moved through mountains with his resolute dedication.

A memorial service is planned March 18, 2017, at the Rendezvous in Kodiak.

A college fund has been set up for his daughters Ellen and Clare at First National Bank of Alaska titled Brian Barrett Family Memorial Fund.
