I have the right to know what my government is doing in my name. I have the right to know if war crimes and other bad behavior are being committed by my government. I am a member and citizen and pay taxes in this nation. The government should not deny information from me, it is supposed to be working for me.
I and my fellow citizens do have a right to privacy or secrecy in our personal effects. Thumbs-up to Snowden, Manning, Assange and other whistleblowers that have helped the masses be informed.
In the words of one of our nation’s founders: “When the government fears the people there is liberty, when the people fear the government there is tyranny.” Those who don’t get this may be getting too much fluoride in their water (may lower IQ by 20 points).
