Guests and members of a wedding at Kachemak Selo on Monday restrained and tied up an uninvited guest they said made death threats. 

After receiving an anonymous 911 call, Alaska State Troopers that afternoon found Joseph Kuzmin, 38, tied up and drunk at his Falls Creek Avenue home near Mile 20 East End Road. Troopers said Kuzmin had a strong odor of alcohol, slurred his speech, stumbled and had a hard time standing up. 

After an investigation, troopers charged Kuzmin with second-degree terroristic threatening, a felony.

According to a criminal complaint by Trooper John Probst, troopers at 3:13 p.m. went to Kuzmin’s home and found him there. They then went to a wedding party in Kachemak Selo and talked to guests. 

Several people told troopers that Kuzmin came to the party uninvited and started drinking. They said he became unruly when asked to leave and made death threats against members of the wedding party, saying he was “going to kill them with his 30.06 and 9mm” firearms, Probst wrote. 

People at the party physically restrained Kuzmin and took him back up the hill to his home and called 911. The people told troopers Kuzmin has a violent history and did not wish to be identified for fear of retaliation. 

According to online court records, Kuzmin has convictions for felony and misdemeanor assault.
