Gov. Bill Walker and First Lady Donna Walker are the featured speakers at the Southern Peninsula Senior Summit, to be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Homer Senior Center. The Walkers speak at 2 p.m.

The summit covers a variety of topics on senior issues. Other speakers are Lisa McGuire, chief of programs, Senior and Disability Services; Eddie Hunsinger, State Demographer; Pat Branson, executive director, Senior Citizens of Kodiak; Ken Helander, advocacy director, AARP; Pam Kelley, education director, Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska; Judy Warren, Kenai Peninsula Family Caregiver Support Program, and Keren Kelley, executive director, and Phyllis Cooper, president, Homer Senior Citizens Inc.
