A rock for Kachemak Gear Shed has retired. For 23 years Sandy Crane served customers for the Gear Shed. We will miss his smiling face, his expertise, his wisdom and his culinary skills. Those who know Sandy have had the joy of sampling his salmon dip, his clam chowder, his pulled pork …

Once in a while Sandy does brag, a little. If you hear him bragging about how many women stand in line asking to marry him, stop him when he gets to six or seven. I was there. It was only three. One had her husband with her. All three wanted the guy who made the famous salmon dip. 

The Gear Shed community wishes Grandpa Sandy all the best. We’ll miss you and I’ll miss your daily help and wisdom. Bon voyage.
