The 2023 Taste of Homer event, a nine-day “gastronomic journey” sponsored by the Homer Chamber of Commerce, begins Saturday and will run through Sunday, May 21.
On Saturday and Sunday, start off your culinary adventure at the Baycrest KOA campground with “delicious street food from a diverse range of local food trucks,” the chamber said on its website, including Dolce Lucca, Free Wheelin’ Cakes and Siren’s Seafood and Street Food. Specials from participating restaurants, expert-led cooking classes, guided food and beverage pairing sessions, a range of educational classes on nutrition, sustainable food practices and global cuisine, and guided tours of farms, breweries, wineries and more will take place from May 13 to May 21.
On Sunday, Grace Ridge Brewing is hosting truffle making in partnership with Homer Truffle Company from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Registration is available at HomerTruffle.co. Mother’s Day brunches will also be held Sunday at The Kannery, Land’s End Resort and Wild Honey Bistro.
Tuesday, May 16, VBS Heating will host a Green Egg BBQ demonstration at Grace Ridge Brewing from 4-6 p.m.
Bear Creek Winery will host a free tour of the winery on Wednesday, May 17.
Join chef Brian Crevier at the Classic Cook on Pioneer Avenue for a cooking demonstration on Thursday, May 18 from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, May 20 from 2-4 p.m.
Participate in a free mocktail class and demonstration at the Grog Shop out East End Road on Friday, May 19 and on Saturday, May 20 from 5-6 p.m.
