The Anchor Point tradition of the Cabin Fever Variety Show made its official comeback last Thursday. The two-hour show featured 19 acts by Anchor Point youth and community members, including multiple vocal and instrumental performances, a comedic magic act, a dance routine and a short recitation from Shakespeare’s “The Tempest.”
“It is once again time for the Snow Rondi Cabin Fever Variety Show!” emcee Dustin Poindexter said in the opening minutes of the event.
Originating in 1951 as a creative effort to support the expansion of Chapman School, the Cabin Fever Variety Show has also supported multiple other community entities over the years, such as the Anchor Point Library, starting in 1997.
The show was last held by the Anchor Point Public Library in February 2018 before going on an indefinite hiatus.
This year, Chapman School, in partnership with the Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce, brought the show back as part of the annual Anchor Point Snow Rondi’s schedule of events.
At the end of the show, Poindexter congratulated all participants and urged audience members to consider taking part in the 2025 Cabin Fever Variety Show and showing Anchor Point’s talent.
