Registration open for Kachemak Bay Writers Conference

The 2025 conference will be held May 17-20 at Kachemak Bay Campus

Registration for the 2025 Kachemak Bay Writers’ Conference is now open.

The four-day conference, to be held May 17-20 at Kachemak Bay Campus, will include a series of craft classes, panel discussions, agent and editor meetings, and readings by both conference faculty and attendees.

This year’s keynote presenter is American-Canadian author and filmmaker Ruth Ozeki, whose most recent novel, “The Book of Form and Emptiness,” published in 2022, won multiple prizes. More information about Ozeki is available on her website at www.ruthozeki.com.

Additional faculty members include poets Geffrey Davis, Peggy Shumaker and Annie Wenstrup; fiction writers Gabriel Bump, Peter Ho Davies and Jasmin Iolani Hakes; and nonfiction writers Kat Chow, Alison Hawthorne Deming and Ernestine Hayes.

Harry Kirchner, editor with Counterpoint Press, and Annie Hwang, agent with Ayesha Pande Literary, are participating as this year’s publishing professionals.
