The eighth annual Homer Electronics Recycling Event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Spenard Builders Supply on Lake Street.
Accepted items include computers, electronics and batteries. Smoke detectors, vacuums, PCBs, audio tapes and video tapes will not be accepted.
Cost for households is $15 per vehicle load. Computer CPUs and laptops are free. More than two computer monitors are $15 each. Televisions with screens 27 inches or smaller are $15 each; televisions with screens greater than 27 inches will be quoted at the event. Households are encouraged to pool their recyclable electronics with friends and neighbors.
For businesses, schools and government agencies, the cost is 35 cents per pound. Computer CPUs and laptops are free. A drop-off time must be scheduled with Cook Inletkeeper.
For nonprofit organizations, the cost is 25 cents per pound with computer CPUs and laptops free. A drop-off time must be scheduled.
