Seven Popeye wrestlers traveled to Anchorage Saturday for the Alaska Battle Cats Freestyle Tournament.

In the prebantam division, Kanin Kumfer and Preston Szymoniak had similarly strong performances with all their wins by fall or technical fall.

The results were: Kumfer over Carter Rice of Matsu Matmen, fall :43; Kumfer over Kael Beezley of Avalanche Wrestling Tech, fall 10-0; Kumfer over Addison Biamonte of Kenai Cavemen, fall :21; Charles Crime of Arctic Warriors over Kanin Kumfer, fall 1:09; Preston Szymoniak over Kyler Johnson of Chugiak Eagles, fall :36;. Szymoniak over Landen Humphrey of Trivalley Wrestling, fall :38; Szymoniak over Kingston Fruean of Anchorage Freestyle Tech, fall 10-0; Arianna Manuel of Anchorage Youth Wrestling Academy over Preston Szymoniak, fall 1:04.

Kanin Kumfer finished second, Preston Szymoniak finished third, Dimitri Hook finished second, Sadie Blake finished second, Mose Hayes finished third and Chris Cudaback finished third.
