About 125 Homer Electric Association customers in Halibut Cove, Peterson Bay and China Poot Bay endured a two-day power outage this week. The outage began about 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning and lasted until about 5:15 p.m Monday evening.
In a press release, HEA said the outage happened when a pole dislodged due to flooding at Stonehocker Creek in the McKeon Flats. Crews found the broken pole on Sunday, but conditions kept crews from making immediate repiars. After making a safe landing zone on Sunday evening, crews worked to restore power on Monday.
