A huge thank you to all who made Oktoberfest a fun and successful event. There’s not enough room for all our thank yous, but special thanks are needed to the Homer Elks Club, Alaska Blaskapelle German Band, Homer Brewing Co., A Brew with a View, Grace Ridge Brewery, Kenai River Brewing Co., SYSCO food distributor, and all the volunteers.

The money raised goes toward sending eighth grade students, AK to DC KIDS, on an American history tour with Close Up, a nonprofit organization operating since 1972, during spring break 2017. This Homer tradition was resurrected and organized, after a four-year hiatus, by the eighth grade families. So far kids and families have collectively volunteered 765 hours and have earned more than $23,000.
