New speech-language pathologist joins SPH staff

South Peninsula Hospital Rehab Department welcomes speech-language pathologist Jessica Powell, MS, CCC-SLP. Powell is available for appointments to evaluate, diagnose and individually treat speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages.

She provides individual therapy for patients with developmental delay, cognitive impairment, autism, stroke recovery, brain injury, dementia, aphasia, cleft palate, stuttering, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and more. 

Powell is certified in clinical competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and licensed by the Alaska Speech Language Pathology Board.  She is a provider of NMES, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, therapy for treatment of dysphagia.  She has a master’s degree from Idaho State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee.
