Ten schools in the lower peninsula have new start and end times as of the 2017-18 school year. The change is due to a switch to a double-tier bus transportation system, which other schools in the district already have. The new start and end times affect the following schools:

Big Fireweed (3-6): 8 a.m. to 2:35 p.m.

Chapman School: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Homer Flex: 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Homer High School: 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Homer Middle School: 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Little Fireweed (K-2): 7:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

McNeil Canyon Elementary: 8:20 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Ninilchik School: 9:05 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.

Paul Banks Elementary: 7:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

West Homer Elementary: 8 a.m. to 2:35 p.m.
