JoEllen Hanrahan has been named the deputy commissioner of the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. Hanrahan previously served as the administrative services director for the department.

Hanrahan is responsible for overseeing the department’s regulatory and consumer protection entities: Banking and Securities; Insurance; Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing; the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board; and the Regulatory Commission of Alaska.
