KODIAK — A former commissioner of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game has submitted his resignation as a fisheries consultant for the city of Kodiak and the Kodiak Island Borough.

The Kodiak Daily Mirror reports Denby Lloyd’s last day will be Oct. 16. He will become the executive director of the North Pacific Research Board in Anchorage.

Lloyd was hired for the joint consulting job two years ago.

He was charged in August 2010 with, and later pleaded guilty to, driving under the influence in Juneau; a reckless endangerment charge was dropped. Lloyd resigned from the commissioner’s post a few months after being charged, calling it his retirement.
