The August recipient of the Homer Flex High School Phoenix Award is Kathleen Kuhn.
Each month, the school staff pick a student to receive the Homer Flex Phoenix Award based on their embodiment of the school’s values: respect, ownership and productivity.
Senior Kathleen Kuhn is a fabulous member of the Homer Flex community. She is genuinely concerned about how her fellow students and the staff are feeling and regularly works to make students feel welcome at school. Kuhn is a great example of someone who faced academic adversity in the past and is overcoming those challenges with hard work and effort. She is active not only within the Flex community as a leader and role model, but also through her work at the REC Room as a peer educator. Always ready with a kind word and a helping hand for her classmates, Kuhn is a pillar of Flex values.
