Shaunti Johnson, Diana Sedor and Dee Forsythe of the Homer Knitting Circle display some of the hand-knit items the group has made for Knit for Kids.

The Homer Knitting Circle has joined author Debbie Macomber to knit 32,000 blankets for children in need around the globe. To date the group already has sent 20 hand-knit baby and youth blankets, a child’s sweater and two caps to Knit for Kids for distribution to children living in the poorest areas in 15 countries, including the U.S. Currently, a special effort is to make blankets for child refugees.
