Sustainable Wares owner Karen West holds a garden gnome that had been outside the building and missed being hit by a Volvo that bumped into the corner of the building on Dec. 7. One corner of the store was dented (see photo at right), one window was broken and other windows and sheetrock were cracked after the accident. Some merchandise worth less than her insurance deductible was damaged by broken glass, West said. Her landlord hasn’t yet received an estimate for repairs.
