HoWL Inc. would like to thank the Youth Advisory Committee and the Homer Foundation for their generous gift towards our DiRtBaG Service Corps program. At HoWL, DiRtBaG stands for Discount Rates to Boys and Girls. By participating in community service projects, students earn $30 toward other HoWL trips. The YAC and Homer Foundation and the Sheldon Youth to Youth Fund gift was put toward these scholarships and allowed students to participate in day trips and expeditions where they learn survival skills, leadership skills, participate in activities like rock-climbing, hiking, camping, sea kayaking, and foraging for edible plants. This summer HoWL offered DiRtBaG trips every Monday and Thursday with around six students participating every trip. The Youth Advisory Committee and the Homer Foundation’s contribution have made such an impact on our students and we cannot thank them enough.
