More than 90 seniors will graduate from Homer High School and Homer Flex High School on May 18.
Homer High School’s “Graduation on the Turf” will begin at 7 p.m., on the turf field to celebrate the 87 seniors graduating. Only graduates and their preregistered guests will be admitted to the ceremony. COVID-19 safety protocols, including masks and distanced seating, will be in place. Graduation will be livestreamed and archived on the Homer Mariner YouTube channel and will feature a virtual slideshow of the graduates before the ceremony begins.
The Homer High School parade through town will begin at the conclusion of graduation. The vehicle procession will be led by the Homer Volunteer Fire Department with assistance by Homer Police Department along the parade route down Heath Street, right onto Pioneer Avenue and will end at the intersection of Sterling Highway. Community members are invited to line the route in celebration of the graduating class of 2021.
Homer Flex High School’s graduation will begin at 5 p.m., at Land’s End on the Quarter Deck. Five seniors will graduate from Homer Flex this May. COVID-19 safety protocols, including masks and distanced seating, will be in place, and only preregistered guests will be able to attend. The ceremony will feature speeches from staff and students, as well as family members.
