Homer Flex High School graduated 10 students Monday at a ceremony at Land’s End Resort Quarter Deck.
With such a small class, the commencement offered an opportunity for students to share their personal thoughts, comments and extend thanks to friends and family.
The students remained onstage throughout the ceremony and were able to engage with the audience, who offered personal praise and congratulations to the graduates.
Graduating senior Audrey Dabney’s comments regarding teachers’ support and care seemed to resonate with her classmates. “On my first day here everyone was so kind and welcoming. All the staff at Flex is super supportive and always checks in with the students,’ she said. “I appreciate all the staff for everything they have done.”
Dabney went on to include individual thank-you notes to various staff who have encouraged her along the way.
Homer Flex graduates for 2023 are Angel Alavazo, Caleb Browning, Audrey Dabney, Bryan DeWitt, Lillian Ellington, Dalton Kieffer, Hannah Krueger, Beatrix Strobel, Rita Strydom and Karma Wilcox.
