HEA says ‘thank you’ during Member Appreciation Day

Dave Gerard was one of the local Homer Electric Association members to stop by the co-op’s Homer office Friday for Membership Appreciation Day, complete with a drawing for a $50 energy credit, sandwiches, snacks, beverages and cake. A similar event also was held at the Kenai office.

“HEA has done this for many years during the month of October in conjunction with National Co-op Month,” said HEA spokesperson Joe Gallagher. “It’s an opportunity to thank our members and also reinforce the message that HEA is a member-owned cooperative. … The two events are a great opportunity to meet with our members and listen to what they say about HEA.”

Area meetings also were held in early October in Seldovia, Anchor Point, Ninilchik, Funny River Sterling and Nikiski, and included barbecues and a short presentation by General Manager Brad Janorschke. Members David Thronton of Homer and Rob Johnson of Nikiski each won a $50 energy credit. HEA has 7,300 members and three districts, with the southern peninsula from Kasilof south to Nanwalek in District 3.
