Homer Electric Association members will see rates drop about a penny with the quarterly Cost of Power Adjustment, or COPA, HEA announced on Wednesday. The COPA falls from 7.9 cents to 6.6 cents per kilowatt hour. That’s about a $6.88 a month savings for the average HEA customer using 550 kilowatt hours a month. The new rate goes into effect Jan. 1.
The Regulatory Commission of Alaska also put on hold a proposed. 3.25-percent base rate and customer charge increased proposed by HEA.
